I'm Claire, an education reporter focusing on student financing and administrative policy.
Please parooz my work (and read it too if you'd like).
My Background:
I'm currently a higher education reporter at The Chronicle.
Before that, I was an investigative fellow at the Better Government Association’s Illinois Answers Project, where I wrote about education and its influence on economic mobility. I’ve also written for a number of Chicago-based outlets, including the Chicago Sun-Times, South Side Weekly, Block Club Chicago, and Illinois Latino News.
I have a master’s degree in investigative reporting from Northwestern University's Medill School.
I’ve lived in several states, but I’ll always be a Tar Heel for life.
What I Cover:
My reporting interests include America’s growing student-debt crisis and the changing landscape of college admissions. I’m also interested in stories about higher-education boards and the power they have in shaping institutional loyalty.
No story is off the table.
I'm open to any and all opportunities -- Let's connect.
